Cabin Haven in Bayou's Embrace   a 22x28 oil painting that I poured my heart into. This piece captures a tranquil bayou scene, where a rustic wooden cabin resides peacefully at the water's edge. Tall trees draped in Spanish moss surround the cabin, creating a perfect sanctuary. The calm surface of the lake reflects the gentle glow of a sunrise or sunset in pastel pinks and oranges, adding an ethereal touch. I was deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the Louisiana Bayou, and this artwork was a wonderful opportunity to explore its serene landscapes.  Over the years, I have taken and seen many many photos. I hope this painting transports you to a place of peacefulness and reflection as it does for me.  I simply love the peacefulness of the Bayou.    It is large 22"x 28"

Here is a Bible verse for you today.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Psalm 91:1-2 (Read all of Psalm 91:1-2)

I will start posting a verse from the Bible each time I post on my blog. GOD has surely Blessed me and my family!

I'm excited to share my latest artwork, "The River's Quiet Promise," a 9"x12" oil painting that captures the serene beauty of nature. This landscape painting transports you to a tranquil forest scene, where a gentle river flows amid tall, lush trees. The interplay of light and shadow on the river's surface offers a peaceful glimpse into a secluded woodland. Creating this piece was a journey of inspiration and exploration, allowing me to connect deeply with the soothing rhythms of nature. I hope it brings a sense of calm and beauty to your day.

Three Framed Pink Roses, oil painting

The artwork is a small, oval painting featuring a bouquet of three pink roses in full bloom, with detailed petals and lush green leaves. The brushstrokes are expressive, giving the flowers texture and depth. The colors are soft and harmonious, blending shades of pink, white, and green to create a natural and delicate appearance. The oval canvas is framed in a simple wooden frame, enhancing the traditional and classic feel of the piece.   5"x7"

Sunflowers Framed, Barbara Haviland

Sunflowers are done with oils and they have textures on the surface.

Title  Sunflowers

Medium Oils on canvas

Size  10"x 20"

"Sunflowers." This piece, measuring 20"x10", captures the vibrant beauty of a large sunflower with its radiant yellow petals and rich brown center, set against a dark backdrop. Accompanied by a few green leaves and a budding sunflower, this composition offers a sense of depth and realism. I was inspired to create "Sunflowers" after observing the majestic simplicity of these blooms and how they evoke warmth and positivity. The creative process was particularly rewarding as I focused on bringing out the intricate details and lifelike vibrancy of each petal. I hope this painting brightens your space and spirit as much as it did mine while bringing it to life.
