Dyptich Bayou paintings,

#cypressTrees,#cabin,#BayouPaintings,#BarbaraHaviland.net,#oilPaintings

This is  some cypress trees I painted on a piece of stained wood that my husband made for me.  It has an oval  routed out and that is where I painted the bayou

This is the second piece to match my other bayou painting. The painting is in the routed out oval of the wood. It is one  piece of wood and the  wood has been stained. They look good   side by side.  The wood frame was made from Pecan wood after a tree fell from a Hurricane. Together they measure 20"x 12".

Pretty Boy Preening Feathers, oil painting, bird

#egret,#preening,#oilPainting,#original,#BarbaraHaviland.net, Bird

I painted this at Shangri-La in Orange, Texas.  We were off the pathway and had to   watch for other critters.    This Egret was so twisted and preening his feathers.  Look closely for where his beak is.
