 Live Oak,  This 16x12 oil painting portrays the lush, green landscape surrounding a Louisiana Live Oak tree, renowned for its large, sturdy trunk and expansive canopy. One of the highlights for me is the way a prominent branch stretches nearly to the ground before gently lifting at the tip, forming a graceful and unique silhouette. The dense, vibrant foliage and the serene atmosphere created by the play of light and shadow make this piece particularly special to me. The draping branches of the Live Oak, contributing to its majestic presence, served as a significant inspiration. Study 139-Mountains

This painting is done in oils and from a study. I am learning how to better design my paintings. I am using the rule of thirds in depth and I am liking the results.    Let me know what you think.  The painting is  9"x12" and is on a canvas panel that I make. I have been using these for years and I like the stiffness of them. I use Lou-an and canvas. I have had no problem with this surface.
