Bluebonnet Bliss and Texas Longhorn, oil painting

Barbara Haviland--Texas Artist /  Comment on this

Bluebonnet Bliss with Texas  Longhorn is one of the very first paintings I did when we moved to Woodville, Texas

I found this herd of longhorns and    took many photos. This one measures 10x20  and is on a canvas panel.

He is sitting in a field of Blue Bonnets.

Magnolia's Grace in Sunlit Oval, flower

I'm excited to share my latest artwork titled "Magnolia's Grace in a Sunlit Oval." This 8x10 piece, priced at $125.00, is a painting of a large, white magnolia flower with a striking yellow and red center. The flower is surrounded by lush green leaves and a delicate bud in the background. The painting is beautifully framed in an ornate, oval-shaped, golden frame that enhances the vibrant colors and intricate details of the flower. The background transitions from light to dark shades, adding depth and contrast to the piece. Magnolias are my favorite flower, and I wanted to capture their elegance in a unique way by using an oval canvas and frame.

Wild Irises: A Dance in Purple, flowers

"Wild Irises: A Dance in Purple,"   This piece captures the vivid hues of wild irises from my garden, highlighting their rich purple petals and bright yellow centers. The 14x11 oil on canvas work features these elegant flowers arranged in a clear glass vase, alongside a softly muted background that accentuates their natural beauty. Creating this artwork was a special experience, as I aimed to convey the graceful charm of these captivating blooms. I hope you find as much joy in viewing it as I did in painting it.

Rose Red is my fourth in a brightly colored floral series.  Three of them are 20" x 16" and one is 18"x 14".  They all have yellows, oranges, and reds in the flowers. The backgrounds all match somewhat. I hope you like them

"First Grosbeak Encounter" is a captivating 5x7 oil painting that beautifully captures the elegance of a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. The bird, perched gracefully on a branch, stands out with its striking black head and back, contrasting with its white belly and vibrant red chest patch. The lush green foliage and touches of reddish flowers or leaves in the background add an enchanting depth and vibrancy to the scene. Framed in a simple wooden frame, this piece harmonizes perfectly with the natural theme, bringing a touch of the outdoors into any space. Inspired by a first-time encounter with this stunning bird at a feeder, this painting is a delightful addition to any bird lover’s collection.
